My decision to study English stemmed from a strong sense of purpose.

I knew I wanted to teach and help people learn languages effectively. I am one of those people whose years at university did not change their original plans. I still wanted to support children, teenagers, and adults in learning English—so they could speak naturally, confidently, and without stress.

Then an unexpected challenge appeared.

I moved to Belgium and settled in Brussels. Ironically, I found myself living in a place where English often takes a secondary role in the education system. Although Brussels is an international city and home to many global organisations, English is introduced in public education at a relatively late stage.

For the first time, I questioned whether my natural ability to communicate and my passion for connecting with people would truly have a place here. At first, I wondered whether there would truly be a need for my work in a city like Brussels.

Thankfully, I never gave up. I continued to believe that my work mattered. I felt that I could genuinely change someone’s life—helping them overcome the fear of travelling abroad, meeting new people, and speaking English with confidence.

So, I made a decision: I would teach English in Brussels.

However, I also remembered my experience working in a Polish primary school and realised that large classes—even those with 20 students—often make effective language learning much more difficult. This is one of the reasons why many learners complete language courses still unable to communicate comfortably and confidently in English.

That is how Green Door was created.

A small, welcoming language school where everyone has the opportunity to speak, be heard, and feel supported.

Quality Over Quantity

I consciously choose to work with small groups. My priority is real progress, not numbers or scale.

I want every student to feel noticed and have the necessary space to actively participate—even if they are naturally shy or hesitant.

A Personal Approach

Everyone learns differently and at their own pace.

That is why I use flexible teaching methods adapted to the needs of each group and individual learner. There is no rigid formula and no routine followed simply because it has always been done that way.

A Safe and Trusting Environment

Learning a language requires courage. Students need a space where they can make mistakes without feeling judged or embarrassed.

At Green Door, I create an atmosphere that encourages openness, questions, and natural communication. It is a friendly, local language school on your doorstep.

Most of my students come through personal recommendations. I do not rely on aggressive marketing or pressure-based sales. My focus is on helping people truly learn to speak English, rather than simply completing a programme.

Building Confidence

Learning a language is not only about grammar and vocabulary. It is also about developing the confidence to use it.

I support students in overcoming language barriers and discovering their own abilities. Confidence that can be difficult to build in large groups often develops naturally in a group of six, where everyone has the chance to participate.

Flexibility and Responding to Real Needs

A teaching programme is a starting point, not a strict framework.

Lessons are adapted to students’ current needs, goals, challenges, and everyday situations. After more than 18 years of teaching experience, I can often recognise what a group needs—even when students do not say it directly.
